Context
CBO provided an Integration Analyst to support integrating multiple systems to enhance data exchange and interoperability within the healthcare sector. The client’s requirement emerged from a pressing need to improve the surfacing of critical data to medical professionals and create parity between core systems to keep the data and the users accessing it with the most up-to-date versions of their data.
Approach
The CBO Integration Analyst spearheaded the development of comprehensive technical specifications, ensuring that the integration processes aligned with industry standards and were fit for purpose. By enabling cross-functional teams, the analyst facilitated collaboration among developers, business analysts, and stakeholders, facilitating alignment with the delivery of the client’s objectives.
One of the key challenges within the engagement was business-as-usual resource constraints occupying capacity across the organisation. As part of CBO’s engagement, the Integration Analyst developed a series of automated workflows to facilitate the chasing of actions, approvals, and document management. In order to enable members of staff to be able to maintain and continue to develop these kinds of workflows, the Integration Analyst provided citizen developer training for key members of the client team.
Impact
At the end of the CBO engagement the integration of multiple systems is well underway, supported by robust technical documentation and transparent integration practices. The automated workflows introduced by the CBO Integration Analyst during this phase have streamlined approvals and action tracking, significantly reducing manual effort. The CBO approach has not only set a strong foundation for the seamless exchange of critical data across systems but also created a framework that can be replicated in future projects.
