Client data project helps financial services business meet regulatory requirements

CBO supported a locally-based independent fiduciary and fund administration business to deliver a project driven by regulatory requirements. After a period of sustained growth, the business identified the need to enhance the efficiency of its existing processes, policies and systems relating to client data management and reporting capabilities.

Identifying an opportunity, the client engaged CBO to work collaboratively within the organisation to improve its internal project management capabilities and provide the structure within which it could successfully deliver its objectives.

Approach

CBO worked with the client from project inception, to put in place a fit-for-purpose project management structure that met the needs of the business and its stakeholders. A light touch approach that provided support and guidance at critical project milestones laid the path for the business to adopt good practice at a pace that suited, whilst maintaining the momentum and oversight required to ensure it met regulatory timeframes.

Outcome

The successful delivery of the project over 10 workstreams included a system implementation, automation of data retrieval across two databases and the review of more than 3,000 records. This resulted in the client meeting its regulatory requirements, as well as improving the efficiency and effectiveness of its internal reporting. The project structure enabled the client to identify and mitigate against risks early and provided a prioritisation framework to effectively manage scope and resources.

The project management tools and techniques introduced by CBO Projects have been adopted in other areas of the business, providing long-lasting benefits that will support the organisation as it continues to grow.

Client Feedback

Working alongside CBO we developed a trusted partnership based on a high quality, flexible approach that adapted to our needs and provided us with the support and expertise required to successfully ensure delivery.” – Client
