Context
The project sought to implement a state-of-the-art document automation software system that is cloud based and would provide Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to the claims business areas. OCR systems convert physical, printed documents into machine-readable text, providing the following benefits: accelerated workflows, automated document routing and processing, and improved service by ensuring colleagues have the most up-to-date and accurate information.
The project objectives were to:
- Elicit, document, and analyse business requirements to identify the best solution
- Complete a full procurement process to ensure the best implementation partner was identified
- Implement the cloud-based software and deliver the OCR technology to the business
CBO’s Approach
The project required BA and PM resources to ensure the project objectives were met. As the resource split between both roles was challenging to estimate, as a new solution was being procured, CBO offered a flexible approach to the client by assigning a qualified PM and BA to the role (Jason Gibbs). Jason focused on applying the proportionate resource across both roles to maximise the effectiveness of the allocated resource.
CBO’s impact
Through a flexible approach, CBO ensured that the project demand for both BA and PM resources was met throughout the engagement. Jason quickly mapped the 50 influential stakeholders and built strong relationships to ensure broad input for requirements and strong engagement for decision-making and approvals, keeping the project moving.
Client feedback
“Jason Gibbs as joint BA and PM gained a really good understanding of the project, procurement element and software very quickly. Jason is very proactive in his approach, just getting on with doing things, whilst keeping me updated throughout. I have been really impressed with Jason on this project and would have him on one of my projects again with no hesitation. Thanks Jason and CBO!” Jody Litt Head of Claims Operations, First Central.
